What is a Certificate of Good Standing?

A Chartered Legal Executive lawyer (Fellow) who wants to become a manager of a Recognised Body or ABS will first need to obtain a Certificate of Good Standing. This can be purchased from the shop in your myCILEX account for a fee of £100. 

Before granting the certificate, CILEX will consider any disciplinary action against you. 

The Certificate of Good Standing will provide the current management of the firm with confirmation that you are authorised to practice and that you are not subject to conditions that would preclude you from becoming a manager. The current management of the firm is responsible for obtaining this information and will be required to supply it to the SRA/CLC.
