Acquisition of the Institute of Paralegals and Professional Paralegal Register

CILEX has recently acquired the Institute of Paralegals (IoP) and the Professional Paralegal Register (PPR) bringing both organisations into the CILEX Group. This will see CILEX increase its paralegal membership by nearly 1,000 members, further strengthening our position as the professional body for specialist legal professionals.

The IoP, established in 2009, is a recognised and trusted organisation with a voluntary paralegal register set up in 2015. It has approximately 1,000 members, all of whom now become CILEX members. The acquisition will increase the size, breadth and diversity of our professional networks and extend our relationships with employers. In making this acquisition, we identified many synergies between our work and a shared vision for recognising the important role paralegals play in the delivery of legal services.

CILEX intends to continue the hugely successful National Paralegal Awards and will retain the Professional Paralegal Register.
