Am I bound by other codes of conduct?

The starting principle is that as a member of CILEx, you will comply with the CILEx Code of Conduct.

If you work in an authorised firm regulated by another regulator you must also comply with that regulator’s code. For example, if you work for a firm regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC), you must comply with its code. In this case, the entity/firm will be regulated by CLC, and you will be regulated by CILEx Regulation.

Managers of Recognised Bodies and ABSs regulated by the SRA/CLC are under the same obligation

CILEx Regulation will carry out misconduct investigations if any member is alleged to have breached the CILEx Code of Conduct. In the event of a misconduct investigation, CILEx Regulation may refer to other codes that are applicable to any member, at that time.
