How to Apply for the CILEX Graduate Qualification (CGQ)

There are a few steps to take when you’re ready to start on your CILEX journey. As a law graduate, you will study the CILEX Graduate Qualification (CGQ), which takes into account and reflects your prior education.

Before you get started, make sure you have your documents to hand to prove any exemptions. It’ll only take around 15 minutes to complete your application.

What to do next

Step 1: Become a CILEX member

First you need to join CILEX and become a member (if you’re not a member already). It’s a simple process to join and pay for your membership fee in your myCILEX Portal. It’s here you’ll provide evidence of your qualifications.

Step 2: Purchase the CILEX Graduate Qualification

Once you have joined CILEX as a member, you are ready to purchase CGQ. Follow the links in your myCILEX Portal to register and purchase your chosen pathway.

Pricing

The CGQ to achieve CILEX Lawyer status costs from around £6,700 (depending on exemptions and advocacy) and will be paid in stages as you progress through the qualification.

If you are not eligible for the CGQ, we will work with you to establish the correct starting point on our qualifications.

Enrol with a training provider

If you’ve chosen to study with CILEX Law School, you’ll be able to enrol onto your course in your MyCILEX portal. If you’ve decided to study with another training provider, you’ll need to enrol directly with them. Whether you’re interested in studying online at home, or wish to combine online study with classroom sessions, our CILEX approved training providers will offer a solution that works for you.
