New Head of Qualifications
NEW HEAD OF QUALIFICATIONS ANNOUNCED

The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) will welcome Vicky Purtill as its new head of qualifications on 1 August. Vicky, pictured, joins CILEx from the regulator, ILEX Professional Standards (IPS), where she was the practitioner authorisation and supervision manager.
Speaking about her new role, Vicky said: “The CILEx
qualifications are well established and respected in the legal
profession and I am very much looking forward to working with the
qualifications team on the opportunities that my new role will
bring.”
Vicky worked at IPS for three years and during this time was
responsible for a number of education policy initiatives including
the research, development and implementation of the new CPD scheme
for CILEx members.
Other projects Vicky has contributed to whilst at IPS include changing the qualification process for CILEx Fellowship to introduce work based learning as part of the assessment; working as part of the Joint Advocacy Group with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board to develop the Quality Assurance Scheme for Advocates (QASA); and involvement in the Legal Education and Training Review (LETR).
Previously Vicky has worked as a lecturer at a number of higher and further education institutions, including the Open University. Specialising in criminal and public law, she has also taught the CILEx level 6 qualifications and worked as a module leader. Vicky has an LL.M in Public Law from University College London.
Alison Hollyer will transfer from the head of qualifications role to take up a new qualifications account manager position at CILEx. Alison will be responsible for the development of relationships with City & Guilds, the management of the paralegal programmes and supporting new and existing centres on the CILEx professional and apprenticeship qualifications.
