New Director of Development
CILEx appoints Director of Development
26 March 2015
Victoria Hurdley has today been named as the new Director of Development for the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). She will take up the post on Monday, 20 April 2015.
Victoria’s role, which is new to CILEx, will be responsible for expanding membership of the Chartered Legal Executive profession and particularly for promoting practice rights and entity regulation opportunities to CILEx members and the wider legal community.
She said: “I am joining CILEx at an exciting time for both the organisation and the sector, especially with the recent approval of independent practice rights and the mounting interest in the opportunities for businesses to be regulated through CILEx Regulation.
“I am looking forward to working with CILEx members and colleagues to promote the benefits of these new rights and to support the development of businesses within the sector.”
Victoria joins CILEx from North Hertfordshire College where, as Commercial Director, her role focussed on working with employers and developing innovative solutions for the recruitment, training and development of teams across a variety of sectors. Victoria is passionate about the development of people and the ‘earn as you learn’ approach which has been advocated by CILEx for more than 50 years.
Thousands of CILEx students will also be celebrating this weekend as more than 3,000 will receive the results of their January exams. Of the students who took a CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice unit, 66% have passed and 52% of students who took a CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice unit or Graduate Fast-track Diploma unit passed. Legal services apprentices also took exams in January, with 84% of those undertaking the Level 4 scheme achieving a pass, merit or distinction.
