ILEX Welcomes Criminal Justice And Immigration Bill

ILEX has welcomed the completion of the passage of the Criminal Justice and immigration Bill through Parliament.

ILEX particularly welcomes the amendments that will enable it to expand its regulatory role through an extension of the regulatory accreditation from the Legal Services Board.

“This is very good news for ILEX and its members,” said ILEX President, Lesley Graham.

“The amendments introduced into the bill in relation to this organisation demonstrate the confidence that the government and peers have shown in ILEX and its regulatory regime and structure. We are strengthened by the many positive comments made about our organisation during the passage of the Bill through Parliament.

“There are many organisations that have numbers of legally qualified employees who are not currently covered by an accredited regulatory body, and we are now ideally placed to offer that regulation in the future.”
