Changes to Qualifying Employment assessment fee
Changes to Qualifying Employment assessment fee
25 January 2017
CILEx Regulation has announced an increase to its ‘Qualifying Employment’ assessment fee from £35 to £70 as of 1 February 2017.
This is the fee that you pay CILEx Regulation to assess your job roles/work experience to ensure that it meets the ‘qualifying employment’ requirements to become a Fellow.
A Fellowship application cannot be determined without first reaching a decision regarding your qualifying employment, so we would strongly recommend that you submit a QE application as early as possible.
Until the time that CILEx Regulation has undertaken a detailed assessment, and have made the decision that you are in qualifying employment, there is no guarantee that you can rely on evidence that you have gathered for your Work-based Learning (WBL) portfolio. The detailed assessment will include a review of the individual duties and responsibilities for each role that you wish to have assessed (and you can apply for as many roles as you wish to be included when you make your application).
Once you have been assessed as being in qualifying employment, you can put that concern to one side and focus on collating evidence for your WBL portfolio.
If you do not have your employment assessed at an early stage, you run the risk of not meeting the qualifying employment requirements and your WBL portfolio will be returned to you. This could leave you in the situation where, by the time you do meet the requirements to apply for Fellowship via the WBL scheme, the evidence that you have gathered may be inadmissible.
You can read more about Qualifying Employment and Work-based Learning on our website. However, if you have any specific queries concerning when in your journey you can or should make your QE or WBL applications, please do contact us via the general enquiry form or via social media at #CILExHelp and we will be pleased to help you.
