CILEX Reforms: Enhancing Public Trust & Confidence
Proposals to amend our governance and constitution, membership structure and regulatory delegation.
CILEX conducted a twelve-week consultation from 14 August to 5 November 2023 on proposals to widen participation in the institute by extending voting rights and eligibility for appointments within our governance structure to all members, a new membership framework including the introduction of Chartered Paralegal and new Chartered Lawyer titles and a proposal to change our regulatory delegation.

Consultation Outcomes
The consultation captured the views of over 1211 members, providers of legal services, consumers and legal sector stakeholders and will be used to inform how we take forward our proposals and in finalising our impact assessments.
